As an actor, Bob had a memorable guest starring role on The Office and, last season, recurred on the ABC Family show Chasing Life. He has also appeared in many other TV shows including MonkCriminal MindsScandal, and Grey's Anatomy. His film appearances include Oculus and the upcoming Universal/Blumhouse feature Ouija 2.

As a writer, Bob sold a feature screenplay to Paramount and wrote and directed the multi award-winning independent feature film 11 Minutes Ago ( Before moving to Los Angeles in 2000, he was the writer/artistic director for Renata’s Dinner Theater in Houston for six years. He oversaw 600+ performances of his plays.

As a magician, he began his professional career at age 16 performing magic for birthday parties and has since performed hundreds of shows for stage, corporate events, and private parties. He was a “house magician” at Houston’s Magic Island performing in the close-up rooms. He landed in Who’s Who In Magic for having written and starred in the long running stage play The Illusionist (no relation to the movie.) He is a magician member of The Academy of Magical Arts and a performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood.

He was a co-founder of, which presented the innovative sci-fi web series, Beckinfield. Dubbed “Mass Participation TV”, Beckinfield allowed anyone to create and play a character in the ongoing story. 

He is a member of SAG-Aftra, WGA, and the Academy of Magical Arts.

Named Close Up Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts (and current 2015 nominee), Jon Armstrong's amazing close-up skills and comedy have brought him numerous awards and nominations throughout his career. 

Jon has performed for some of the most prestigious audiences in over 30 countries worldwide. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, Jon became fascinated by the magic he saw in the theme parks around him and dreamed of having his own show. This dream came true when Disney asked him to bring his act to Epcot and he became the resident magician at Walt Disney World. He was only 20. 

After spending 5 years doing his show at Disney World, Vegas called and Jon answered, becoming a recurring headliner at Caesar's Magical Empire. It was between these runs in Vegas that Jon started doing his tours all over the world as both a performer and lecturer, teaching others how to add humor and entertainment to their magic. 

Jon has also worked on many films and television shows such as "The Mentalist" and "Spiderman 3" as a magic consultant and designer, and is co-creator of the IDW comic series Smoke and Mirrors.  

Jon now lives in Los Angeles and is a frequent performer at the world famous Magic Castle. His TV appearances as a talk show guest, featured performer or actor, include shows like NBC's "The Today Show", "Magic Castle After Dark" on A&E, CW's "Penn and Teller Fool Us", Fox's "Masters of Illusion" and ABC's "Bachelorette" He has been featured in trade publications like Magic, The Linking Ring, MUM and other magic journals worldwide. Stories have been done on him in The New York Times, LA Magazine and Harpers, just to name a few.
